    In order to maximize the effective formulation of JDI Sugarcane Weed Management products, ensure the following recommendations:


    Follow the dosage and mixing instructions as prescribed in the labels

    As pre-emergent solution, ensure enough soil moisture to active the weed-killing formulation

    Avoid herbicide application during rainy period and it is recommended to apply in the morning with enough sunlight

  • Soil pH level is very critical to the developmental growth of sugarcane plant. What is the ideal pH range for sugarcane crop?

    Soil pH level or soil acidity and alkalinity determines how sugarcane plant properly absorbs the right amount of nutrients coming from the soil.  For sugarcane plant to thrive, the recommended pH level for cultivation is within at range of 5.0 to 8.0 depending on soil type. 


    If not properly managed, incorrect soil pH level can lead to the following:


    Improper growth of critical bacteria and microorganisms that regulates decomposition of organic substances that are important to nitrogen flow in the soil.   

    Improper nutrient absorption in the soil that is critical to sugarcane plant development

    Abnormal growth and development of sugarcane plant and can lead to crop damage.

    Acidic soils have low availability of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and Sulfur causing deficiencies of these nutrients to plants. On the other hand, acidic soils have high availability of Iron, Manganese, Boron and Aluminum which are toxic to plants.  High Aluminum concentration in soils causes roots of plants to be stunted thereby affecting absorption of nutrients.
